Romanian migrants send home £500,000 each day from the UK

Romanians living in Britain send home nearly £500,000 every day, official figures revealed last night.

A total of £41million left the UK for the Eastern European country over a three-month period, said the Romanian Central Bank.

Last year alone, the Romanian economy was boosted by £2.5billion sent from abroad, it added.

The figures for the country’s UK-based nationals for January to March last year include cash transferred between banks or moved by money transfer.

If the level was maintained throughout 2010, it would mean more than £160million was sent to Romania from the UK over a year.

That would mean a rise of nearly 50 per cent on the 2009 total of £108million. But the figures do not include informal transfers and unofficial movements of money, including cash moved between friends and relatives.

This means the true total could be up to 30 per cent higher. An estimated two million Romanians work abroad, including 60,000 thought to live in the UK. Most live in North London and the South East of England. A further 25,000 each year are given work permits to enter Britain.

Most get temporary permission and take low-paid fruit-picking jobs on a seasonal agriculture worker scheme before returning home.

Restrictions put in place when Romania entered the EU in 2007 mean they cannot move freely around Europe looking for work. But these restrictions end in 2013, raising fears of a new wave of migrant workers.

Average incomes in Romania are 28 per cent of those in Western Europe and a fifth of the working age population lives abroad.

Economists estimate that it could take 20 years before Romanians reach the living standards of countries like the UK.

Official figures show some £90billion has been sent back to Romania over the last decade from expatriates. The average Romanian worker is thought to save around £100,000 before returning home.

A study by a Romanian jobs website found the UK was the most popular destination for workers. A third of the posts it offers are UK-based.
However, annual totals sent from the UK to Romania have plunged since 2007 when the figure was £312million.

Last year, the EU blocked Romania and Bulgaria from joining the EU’s passport-free travel zone because of fears of an influx of organised criminals. Romania has also faced major problems as a centre for drugs and people trafficking.

The country’s president, Traian Basescu, has invited criticism for thanking Romanians living abroad for claiming benefits.

‘Social protection makes it more comfortable to be unemployed than do manual jobs,’ he said.

Bar on benefits lifted for East European migrants who will be able to claim £250 a week

Britain faces a new influx of migrants who could claim benefits of up to £250 a week within weeks of arriving.

From next Sunday, rules that ban Eastern Europeans from claiming unemployment, housing and council tax benefits until they have worked in the UK for 12 months are being lifted.

Critics are concerned about the risk of ‘benefits tourism’ by immigrants from the eight former Communist countries affected.

It is feared that the relaxed rules will attract new immigrants, as well as persuading the one million or so Eastern Europeans already in Britain to stay.

When the countries joined the EU in 2004, their citizens were barred from claiming jobseeker’s allowance or housing and council tax benefits in the UK until they had worked here for 12 months continuously. The stringent rules meant few qualified.

But the restrictions were time-limited – it was always intended they would end when a transition period finished seven years after the countries joined the EU.

From next Sunday they will be treated exactly the same as Britons. They will be able to claim the three benefits immediately, as long as they can prove they meet their own countries’ requirements for unemployment benefit, are seeking to work, and are ‘habitually resident’ here.

The ‘habitually resident’ qualification means they will usually have to have been here for three months.

The countries are: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia. They still tend to be poorer than Western European nations and wages and benefits are less generous. Professor Krystyna Iglicka, an expert in migration from the Centre for International Relations in Warsaw, said: ‘These new benefit rules will make Poles feel even more at home in Britain and it is another reason why they will never leave.’

Kamil Lesniak, a 20-year-old barman from the south-west Polish town of Taenobrzeg, said he would be on his way to the UK ‘tomorrow’ if the British benefits system could match his monthly income of £450.

Eva Katona, 22, is considering moving to Britain from the Hungarian capital, Budapest, to work as a nanny or carer.

‘The unemployment benefit in England is higher than a salary here and I have been told I can go on the dole as soon as I get there,’ she said.

‘It is not my intention to do that but it is nice to have the sort of security you would not find here.’

Since the EU expanded in 2004, Britain has experienced its largest wave of migration, despite official predictions that only 13,000 workers would want to move here.

The Home Office said it did not know how many migrants would be attracted to Britain by the benefits rules changes, although it estimates they will cost £30million a year.

Sir Andrew Green, chairman of campaign group MigrationWatch UK, said: ‘The Government has not asked the question because it does not want to hear the answer.

‘This is a space that will need careful watching. There’s no way of knowing what effect this change will be but there is clearly a risk that the British welfare state will be exploited.’

The Department for Work and Pensions insisted that the rule changes will not mean people will be able simply to come to the UK and start claiming benefits – because there will be strict tests.

The rules have to be lifted because they conflict with the EU’s freedom of movement laws.

Towns where one worker in two is foreign

The picture above shows the shocking amount of foreign workers in London, with the highest number being in Newham, the East London borough which is to host the 2012 Olympics. That is 65,100 jobs out of 93,700 and yet 25,600 British-born people in the area are out of work.

Slough, Leicester, Luton, Reading, Cambridge, Manchester, Oxford, Crawley and Elmbridge are areas outside London with the largest populations of foreign workers.

The Key to Immigration

I was shocked and dismayed when I followed a link sent to me last night.

It took me to a website called The Key to Immigration and featured a video showing immigrants how to gain entry into Britain if they are from a non EU country.

Watch the video yourself by going HERE

Procol and Candor state:

What is The Key to UK Immigration?

The Key to UK Immigration is a 4 ½ hour long, high quality, comprehensive DVD guide to living, working, studying or visiting the United Kingdom if youre from any country outside the European Economic Area (EEA). It is also available to be watched instantly as a streaming video via our website www.keytoUKimmigration.co.uk

It provides a comprehensive overview of the most popular UK visa categories and immigration applications.

It simplifies and clarifies not only the highly complex UK immigration laws but also the procedures and requirements you will need to follow which are often equally important as even a small error can result in a visa refusal on a technicality.

You will watch and listen to UK immigration lawyers explain in detail the eligibility and application procedures for over 35 different UK visa categories as well as permanent residence (Indefinite Leave to Remain) applications and citizenship (naturalisation) applications.

Most chapters are dedicated to one type of visa application though some discuss and compare more than one. At the end of each chapter there is a review which summarises on-screen all the key points.

See our website for further details.

Why should I buy The Key to UK Immigration?

Ask yourself whether you or a friend or family member is:

· wishing come to the UK

· already in the UK legally and wanting to extend their visa

· already in the UK illegally (for example as an overstayer) and wishing to regularise their status

If the answer to any of these is yes, then this DVD is great starting point to guiding you through the minefield of information out there. It contains a goldmine of information which should help you understand which category or categories of visa best apply to you and explains how you could qualify.

The same information that is available in this DVD could easily cost over £1,000 if you consulted an immigration lawyer. This DVD is perfect for workers, employers, entrepreneurs, investors, businesspeople, asylum seekers, students, visitors, relatives, spouses, civil partners, unmarried partners, fiancé(e)s, and anyone else with questions regarding UK immigration law and procedures.

We believe it is the first of its kind and that there is nothing like it in the UK.

Damn right there isn't!

'Terror' wives must get their benefits back: It's a human right, says Euro law chief

If we need any reason to get out of the European Union this is one of them...

Europe's law chief wants Britain to reinstate the payment of tens of thousands of pounds in State handouts to the wives of suspected Al Qaeda and Taliban fanatics.

Ministers have halted benefit payouts made to the families of suspected terrorists to prevent the money falling into the hands of banned groups.

The Treasury says the power is a vital weapon in the war against terrorism. It stems from a crackdown on terrorist financing launched in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.

However, the senior advocate of the European Court of Justice, Paolo Mengozzi, yesterday declared the decision to stop the payments was unfair on the grounds of human rights.

His opinion is likely to prove crucial when Europe's highest court considers three test cases brought by the wives of British-based terror suspects later this year.

In eight out of every ten cases, the court has agreed with the Advocate General - making it highly likely the UK taxpayer will soon begin forking out hundreds of pounds a week to the families.

Whitehall officials have refused to name the families involved in the test cases - but all three of the husbands are foreign nationals on the United Nations list of international terror suspects.

They have been linked by security officials to Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden and the Taliban

The payouts to their wives include income support, child benefit and housing assistance worth 'several hundred' pounds a week.

Last night, campaign groups said it would be outrageous for the European courts to once again water down Britain's anti-terror laws.

Matthew Elliott, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said: 'It is absurd that this unaccountable European court is trying to dictate

to the British Government how we spend our own money. British taxpayers are already sick of bankrolling the lifestyles of people who preach hate against our country, and there is no way that they should be able to fund their activities or their families through milking the welfare system.

'Whether you agree with the judgment or not, it is a choice that should be made by our country, not these lawyers who are answerable to nobody.'

Under the Treasury's rules, social security payments cannot be made available 'directly or indirectly, to, or for the benefit of' anyone who is on the UN terrorism sanctions list.

This has been applied to the wives of as many as ten terror suspects, who have been hit with licences restricting their access to state funds.

In the case due before the EU court, the three women claim this amounts to a violation of their human right to a family life.

Their first appeal was rejected. But in a second appeal to the House of Lords, Britain's highest court, judges had concerns about how the law was being applied.

In April 2008, they asked the European Court of Justice to provide a ruling.

Any decision by the European court, which is expected to issue a final judgment in three to six months, will be binding on the House of Lords and on courts throughout the EU.

In advance of this decision, Mr Mengozzi issued a 26-page written opinion in which he argued the phrase 'directly or indirectly, to, or for the benefit of' suspected terrorists was very widely drawn.

He acknowledged that the payments made to the wives could benefit their husbands, but disputed whether those benefits could easily be converted into funds to finance terrorism.

Mr Mengozzi advised the European Court of Justice to rule that the extra restrictions were unjustified and violated the right to respect for family life.

Earlier this week, the European Court of Human Rights dealt a separate blow to UK anti-terror policy when it ruled the stopping and searching of suspects without grounds for suspicion was unlawful.

The searches had been a key plank of policing for over a decade.

CONSERVATIVE LEADERSHIP IN SECRET DEAL TO OUST BERCOW

Paul of Derby BNP sent me this information this morning. I think you will find it very interesting....

A highly ranked source on UKIP's NEC (UKIP's governing body) has confirmed the existence of a deal between the Conservative leadership and Nigel Farage, ex-leader of UKIP and currently the UKIP leader in the European Parliament.

Apparently Farage is being secretly backed by the Tory leadership, as a proxy, to oust John Bercow, Speaker of the House

John Bercow is very unpopular with the Conservative Parliamentary Party for his expressed sympathies for 'New Labour'. His election to the office of Speaker was only possible because of overwhelming support from the Parliamentary Labour Party, calculated to embarrass the Conservative front bench.

John Bercow's wife has also confirmed her ambition to represent Labour in the Commons, which has caused further irritation amongst Conservative MPs.

According to the UKIP NEC member: "If the wheeler-dealer Farage is elected, Bercow will lose his seat. Farage will then resign shortly afterwards, creating a by-election which the Conservatives will win, thereby adding to their number in what may be an extremely thin Conservative majority or possibly a hung Parliament."

Under new rules, MPs are not permitted to serve in the European Parliament. Farage would be loath to resign his European Parliamentary seat and the generous salary, perks and allowances
he receives, and not least his co-leadership of one of the groupings within the Parliament. He will therefore resign his Westminster seat, repeating a claim he has often stated that
real power lies in the EU anyway.

The existence of such a deal is likely to cause disagreement within UKIP. Already, UKIP’s new leader, Lord Pearson, has faced considerable opposition from rank-and-file membership. This
follows the revelation of a deal where Pearson proposed to stand UKIP down in the general election in return for a promise by the Conservatives to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

The Conservatives dismissed the approach, which will have been made with Farage's knowledge.

This time, however, the Conservative leadership is particularly keen to see the back of John Bercow.

According to sources in the local Conservative Constituency Association in Buckingham, "Something untoward is going on behind the scenes but if it is true Farage is involved, we
must appreciate that he is heavily tainted in his own expenses' controversy involving £2m. He is not someone we would want to represent Buckingham, deal or no deal."

Our source speculates that if Farage is elected in Buckingham and then duly resigns, he will receive a Peerage a year or two later. Under the new rules, Peers are permitted to sit in the
European Parliament.

European Union - The Truth

9 shocking facts about the EU:

1. The leaderships of the Conservative, Labour and Lib Dem parties have been taken over by pro-Europeans. These leaderships implement the EU's policy, and ignore the wishes of their voters. That's why your vote doesn't make a difference.

2. The six European Union treaties give it the constitution of a dictatorship, and the laws of a police state. Dictatorships lead to oppression and poverty. Politicians conceal that the EU's Constitution is similar to the old Soviet Union's.

3. The Queen has signed all six EU constitutional treaties. These treaties make it clear the EU will abolish the nations of Britain and England (and our Lib-Dem, Labour and Conservative parties, Lisbon Treaty clause 8A-4).

4. The EU is illegal under British law. Five Prime Ministers and the Queen have committed six acts of Treason by signing the EU treaties which will abolish our nation and replace it with the EU; they secretly repealed two of the five laws of treason in the 1998 Crime and Disorder Act (s36.3) to escape a prosecution.

5. The police state growing around you, and reported on by some national newspapers, is the EU police state. We've been in the EU for 36 years, we are harmonising our laws with the EU, the emerging police state is the result.

6. Political correctness, the undermining of parents, the family and teachers, the teaching of sex and homosexuality to under tens, the promotion of single parent families etc. etc. is subversion by the EU or its Common Purpose organisation over the last 34 years, using the 200+ techniques of the German Cultural Marxist Frankfurt School.

7. The EU will be an economic disaster. We now lose £45 billion a year trading with Europe; before we joined we broke even. The EU's 120,000 regulations cost us £100 billion a year (Better Regulation Commission Annual Report 2005); they will bring us a soviet style command economy and poverty. Our politicians lied to us.

8. If you have voted Conservative, Labour or Lib Dem over the last 35 years you have voted for the EU police state, and for the abolition of your own party.

9. German Chancellor Angela Merkel forced the Reform or Lisbon Treaty on us (passed by Westminster 21st January, 138 majority) which replaced the British Constitution with the EUs on 1st January 2009. Westminster is now powerless and defunct. The EU treaties dont allow for a British General Election, due by 5th May 2010, when the EU will have the power to abolish Westminster. You will then be imprisoned inside the EU police state, and ruled by unelected EU dictators, who will control the nuclear weapons of what used to be Britain and France.
