It has just been reported on Arteinfo channel that there have been several riots in some 'quartiers populaire',(news speak for immigrant enriched areas) of Brussels, between riot police and immigrants since the end of Ramadam.
This does suggest, therefore that they are muslims. No reasons have been given at present as to why these riots began.
Police in the Belgian capital Brussels have arrested 43 people following a second night of civil unrest.
On Thursday, nine police were injured, one seriously, when violence broke out after a 14-year-old was taken into custody in the suburb of Molenbeek.
The area has a large population of North African immigrants and the youth was wanted by the authorities for taunting officers on the beat during Ramadan.
Police came under attack from stones and Molotov cocktails and cars in the area were torched.
The authorities responded with water canon and 100 officers brought the situation under control but tension remains high.
